CH. MAPO'S SANDMAN. "Sandman" was the real love of MAPO Kennels, Reg. (Richard Maze & Hinds Poth). He enjoyed nine full years that started with championship at an early age by capturing three 5-point wins from groups in succession. After that came 6 BIS (all breeds) 20 Specialties, 24 Group 1sts, and 49 BOB's. His limelight wins were BCA National Specialty in 1957 at Philadelphia (Hall of Fame) and BOB at the Chicago B.C. Specialty, 1958, going on to second in the group at the Chicago International event. This home-bred boy produced 13 champions, and in 1965, won the very first Fletcher Memorial Award for having sired the greatest number of bulldog champions in that period. He contributed greatly toward MAPO's score of having 24 champions in their Kennel Sandman came from a litter of seven puppies produced from their own Ch. Santiago de Batangas and led the life of Riley, always. He made his mark as a sire, as a great winner and was truly a "Gentleman" in every sense of the word. He was a close companion to his owners. - the Bulldogger, 1976
